Welcome to the digital station of W6ILO.

I was bitten by the RF bug as a kid playing with CB radios as a Boy Scout. I became a licensed GMRS operator in the summer of 2025 after developing an interest in off-road driving. I passed my Technician class exam at Pacificon 2025 and have hit the ground running ever since.

I approach amateur radio through the lens of an experienced systems engineer, homelabber and nerd. This site serves as the documentation hub for my base operations, exploits with my mobile comms. setup in my 2025 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter, and my ongoing experiments with radio and homelab integration.

I'm driven by the mantras of, 'because I can' and 'I wonder what happens if...' and I enjoy the troubleshooting and learning curve just as much as the actual operating. I welcome you to be a part of my journey, hope to see you on the airwaves!
